Pedobesity

Intelligent information systems and specialized AI algorithms for treatment of childhood and adolescent obesity.

Partners: Datamed SA, UOA
Finance body: ESPA - EPAnEK
Duration: 2014-2020

Notes

UOA: National and Kapodistrian
University of Athens

Short description

Using intelligent information systems and decision support systems we have developed a web application for the personalized monitoring and treatment of children and adolescents with obesity problems.

At present, more than 2.500 children and adolescents have been followed up on a regular basis. Our recent data analysis demonstrated that using this approach results in a reduction of obesity rates by 30% and overweight rates by 35-40% within one year.

The long term aim of the project is to reduce obesity and overweight problems to the level of 20% of its initial value.

RF-Cure

Use of RFID technology, for inventory control and blood donation management, the RFCure Main Monitoring Bay.

Partners: Datamed SA, Ubitech
Finance body: GGET - EPANII
Duration: 2018-2021
Short description

The object of the Rf-Cure project is leveraging RFID technology in order to design advanced and innovative services to the Public Health sector and more specifically for Hospital inventory and blood products supply chains.

OneHealth Solutionsnk management application using RFID technology (RFCure Main Monitoring Bay). The application is structured as a SOA architecture implemented in Java using OSGI technology.

The main components are a monitoring dashboard visualizing high level events and alerts, regarding the life cycle of blood bags, (i.e a bag was left outside the fridge), an open source relational database and an RFID, event based middleware. The application also includes an interface with an existing blood donation system, BloodMed and the ERP Atlantis, which use barcode technology.

A pilot demonstration at Argos general Hospital followed the life-cycle of (a) blood bags and (b) orthopaedic implants

Partners: Datamed SA, ICCS-NTUA
Finance body: EPAnEK
Duration: 2014-2020

Notes

ICCS: Institute of Communication
and Computer Systems - NTUA

Short description

The object of the research project is the implementation of the Impilo Platform, that will use Blockchain techonology, an open source medical data repository, for the creation and access to Electronic Health Record (EHR) data.

The platform will act as a server to handle interactions of physicians and patients, and offer innovative services, such as tele-visits and tele-counseling sessions, sharing critical data both between patients and doctors, but also among doctors.

Impilo will serve also as a as a global interconnected healthcare network in connection with other HER applications.

The project aims to combine a smart, mobile, digital personal health management assistant (Healthier platform) with a monitoring system and effective communication mechanism and tools to transmit the necessary data to caregivers and nurses, utilizing, where is necessary, the capabilities offered by IoT technologies. In this way the elderlies are empowered to manage their health more effectively, whistle their caregivers/ nurses can efficiently and safely monitor them from distance, reducing the time they need to spend on-site. Our aim is to increase the timespan in which every elder can live in their own homes safely and autonomously thus minimizing interventions from their care givers.
